88-year-old mom had suffered from dementia. She may forget everything, including her family, but she never forgets her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
88-Year-Old Mom
A viral Instagram video has inspired millions of viewers on the internet. The short clip showed an 88-year-old woman who was asked by her daughter a series of questions. Because of her dementia, she could not recall nor answer any question.
The first question was, “Can you tell me what your address is?” The woman could only shook her head and replied, “What my address is? I don’t know.”
Her daughter continued to ask, “What color of shirt did you have on yesterday?” “I don’t know,” the mom answered.
So, the daughter proceeded to ask another question but this time, she tried to ask a more recent happening. “What did you have lunch today?” The elderly woman tried to recall but failed. So, she gave the most sure answer that brought chuckles between them. “Food,” she said.
Then, the daughter asked her mom about the persons she are related to. “Who is Linda? Do you know Linda?” The elderly woman shook her head.
“What about Paul?” “Paul? I don’t know either.”
Who is Jesus?
But then, the daughter asked her a surprising question that many people did not expect the woman would answer unhesitantly and quickly.
“Who is Jesus?”
Without a second, the demented mom answered and declared who Jesus was in her life.
She said, “Well, Jesus is the one who saved me and lives in my heart and will take me home.”
The daughter was amazed.
The elderly woman continued, “I love Him.”
The demented mom’s quick remembrance of Jesus showed how much the Lord has been real in her life. Despite forgetting everything, her brain still remembers the most important thing. And that is the One who saved her and will take her home, Jesus.
