Liat is a Jewish woman who married a Christian man, and as her family grew, so did her desire to get back in touch with her Jewish roots. However, after years of rejecting and hating Jesus, her mother’s vision led her to Yeshua, her Messiah.
As a Jewish Woman
Growing up, Liat admitted that she didn’t want Jesus to be her God, and never thought that He would.
Liat grew up in a neighborhood outside of Tel Aviv. She chose to go to the United States as soon as she exited the military. Then she met her husband. He wasn’t Jewish, but she didn’t care. It was clear that they had a connection. There was worry in the family about how to raise the children as both of them were still searching for God.

“But I was very stubborn and I was convinced that you can do it if in a spiritual way where we just both respect each other’s holidays,” she said. “And each other’s practices and all that. He respected my choice to seek my spiritual roots and to understand them.”
Jewish Woman Hated Jesus But
When their son turned 13, Liat wanted him to go to the Bar Mitzvah. The community was very welcoming but she found a few strange things. One of which was when she was told to divorce her husband.
“And I had a beautiful marriage. Besides this ‘religion’ issue that was growing bigger and bigger as a monster in our family, we had love for each other. And we were raising children. I didn’t want to divorce him,” Liat said.

Liat realized that as far as they’re concerned, her husband doesn’t count as their child’s father. It was very hurtful for her. She went to Judaism to find God but she didn’t find Him through all those rituals.
The Turning Point
“And so I had this voice telling me this is not God. And I love my people so much and I wanted to belong to them so much. But I had a feeling and I knew that I was never going to be in a place where the father of my children was not welcomed,” she said.
Liat didn’t want Jesus to be her God, however, He spoke to her through dreams. One night, her mother woke her up from her sleep and shouted, “Wake up, wake up! Yeshua is the Messiah!”
“That morning I woke up just something changed me. That was not a dream, I know it was not a dream. Because first of all, I didn’t know who Yeshua was. I never heard that name. But I know she was talking about Jesus for some reason, even though I didn’t know who it was,” Liat said.
