Kirk Franklin glorifies Jesus during the 2020 Grammy Awards after winning the Best Gospel Performance on Sunday in Los Angeles.
The gospel singer received the award for his song “Love Theory”.
He said onstage, “Gospel music has so many incredible talents and I’m so humbled to be in that category with some of the greatest to ever do it.”

The 2020 Grammy winner then boldly declared Jesus as he continued, “I am such a fan of all these incredible men and women that I get to tell the world about Jesus the King because it is all about Him, amen?”
Another Grammy Award For Kirk Franklin
Kirk’s fellow nominees were Travis Greene featuring Jekalyn Carr (“See The Light”), Koryn Hawthorne featuring Natalie Grant (“Speak The Name”), Tasha Cobbs Leonard (“This Is A Move (Live)”), and Gloria Gaynor featuring Yolanda Adams (“Talkin’ About Jesus”).
On top of the Best Gospel Performance award, Kirk also won the Best Gospel Album for Long Live Love.
His co-nominees were Gene Moore for Tunnel Vision, William Murphy for Settle Here, Donald Lawrence Presents the Tri-City Singers for Goshen, and CeCe Winans for Something’s Happening! – A Christmas Album.
Honoring The Late Kobe Bryant
The singer also honored the NBA legend Kobe Bryant in his short speech. He sent prayers to the family left behind by the NBA star and his 13-year-old daughter. Bryant, his daughter Gigi, and seven others were killed Sunday in a tragic helicopter accident in California.

Also, American Gospel singer Gloria Gaynor won Best Roots/Gospel Album for Testimony. She said while on Grammy stage, “I want to first thank my Lord and Savior, Christ, Jesus, for the gifts, talents and abilities that I’ve been given. With which to make the strides that I’ve made in my life and my career and to bring forth some music that tells of the mercy, the grace, the love, the faithfulness, the availability of God.”
“While sitting there, I was thinking to myself, we all think from time to time and say ‘Oh, that dress is to die for. That song is to die for. This is to die for. Well, I can’t tell you how blessed I feel to know that He thought I was to die for. He thought you were to die for. Think about that,” the Grammy winner boldly said, preaching the Gospel.
