Content creator Melody Alisa suggested three questions one may ask to cultivate intentional friendships with others.

Intentional Friendship

A real friend is rare and hard to find. It is one of the greatest gifts God has given to mankind. Just like what Proverbs 18:24 in the Bible says, “There are ‘friends’ who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.”

This sentiment rings true for many people. While genuine friendships are often sought after, it is advisable to strive to become the kind of friend one desires to have, rather than merely searching for such friendships.

3 Questions

To help foster intentional friendships, social media influencer Melody Alisa proposed three questions one might ask their friends. She hoped that her suggestion would help friendships flourish according to God’s ways. She referenced Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, that states: “If the one falls, the other will help the fallen one. But woe to the solitary person! If that one should fall, there is no other to help.”

GOD’S WORD FOR YOU TODAY: JESUS IS YOUR FRIEND

Here are the three questions that Melody suggested asking a friend:

  1. How can I pray for you this week?
  2. What has been on your heart and mind lately?
  3. Where are you seeing growth within yourself that I can celebrate with you?

Accountability

Melody also mentioned in her caption that her suggestion stemmed from her own experiences with her best friend who lives far away. She explained how this practice bore fruits that helped both of them thrive, especially in God’s sight.

Accountability done in God’s way is a beautiful thing. And perhaps that’s how ideal friendships should be. It is indeed God’s gift because He designed people to be in a community. People weren’t created to be alone.

If Melody’s message resonates with you, consider trying it out with your friends and be blessed!
