A young woman is encouraging everyone to stop identifying themselves as the things they struggle with.
Stop identifying yourself with our struggles
21-year-old Georgia Haverlock took to Instagram to share what God has been teaching her about her struggles. She started by sharing how she realized she has labeled herself wrongly.
“I called myself an overthinker for the longest time, but God is now telling me that I can’t identify myself with the very thing that I struggle with. Because defining myself with those very things means that we are not separated, that I’m bound by it, that I’m in chains because of it.”

Because of that, the cycle continued and she never really experienced breakthrough from that struggle. It had always been a cycle for Georgia. But the Lord brought her on a journey of healing by reminding her how much power are in our words.
“We have to be so careful with what we’re telling ourselves. Because the Bible says that I have the power to take my thoughts captive and that I will not be controlled by them. And so I’m not an overthinker, I have the power and the ability to control what my mind thinks about.”
Freedom in Jesus Christ
The enemy wants you to identify yourself with the things that you’re struggling with to keep you bound in chains. However, God is redeeming and setting us free from those bondages! You just have to let God heal and cleanse you.
“Never identify with a sin that you have committed or an issue that you’re struggling with, because God has cleansed us and He can heal us from old things so we are never bound to who we were before.”
