A Christian mother testified how her daughter and her two other friends boldly refused to worship a false God in school.

A Christian mother shared a powerful testimony that would greatly remind people to worship the living God alone. Her 9-year-old daughter named, Charity went to a Homeschool program. It was a good Friday when she came home from school. When her mother asked about her day, she answered that it was scary. Then, her mother inquired about what had happened. That’s when the young girl started to share a specific experience that terrified her.

When she and her classmates were in their last class, they were learning about the countries around the world and the different sites built on them. They had a substitute teacher on that day who was teaching about how people worship the “sun god.” She said to her class, “How about we all take a moment to see what it feels like to worship the ‘sun god?’” Then, she encouraged them to bow down.

She believed in Jesus

However, the young girl, Charity, boldly said to her teacher that she couldn’t do it because she believed in Jesus. Sadly, the teacher got mad at her and said, “No, you are going to do this.” So Charity, together with her two other friends stood up and answered, “Sorry, we’re are not going to do that.”

Furthermore, their teacher ended up confronting them by letting their other classmates leave the room and keeping Charity and her friends inside. She berated them for not bowing down to worship the “sun god.” Then, her mother explained that this happened in Greely, Colorado, and not in some foreign country. She then highlighted that the enemy was no longer secretive anymore.

Helmsley Charitable Trust Grants $500,000 For 708 Bullet Proof Vests And Helmets To Protect United Hatzalah Volunteers

The Helmsley Charitable Trust has sponsored 708 sets of bullet proof vests and helmets to United Hatzalah for the use of emergency aid workers in areas within the range of Hamas rockets launched from Gaza.

During Operation Guardians of the Wall, Hamas launched 3,440 rockets at Israeli cities in the Gaza periphery and beyond. The rocket barrage claimed the lives of ten Israelis and injured dozens more.

United Hatzalah volunteer EMTs, Jewish, Christian, and Muslim alike, put themselves in harm’s way, time and again to respond to medical emergencies occurring during the tumultuous time period.

While many of the volunteers in and near the Gaza periphery had full safety equipment, including a bulletproof helmet and vest, an additional 1,500 bulletproof helmets and vests were required by the organization in order to outfit other first responders now that Hamas rockets were reaching a much wider area.

United Hatzalah President and Founder Eli Beer turned to The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust and asked them to help support the effort and assist the organization in purchasing the much-needed equipment to protect the volunteers.

“The Helmsley Charitable Trust helped us during the national emergency facing the country in May and enabled us to purchase this equipment. Following the rocket attacks from Hamas earlier in the year, and the rising wave of terror attacks in Jerusalem, this protective gear is more vital than ever,” Beer said.

“Over the past few weeks, Israel saw an increasing number of terror attacks, especially around the old city of Jerusalem. Whenever our volunteers respond to such incidents, where their own lives may be put at risk, it is reassuring to know that they have this equipment that helps to protect them so that they can help those in need and return to their families and loved ones safe and sound after it is over. I cannot thank the Helmsley Charitable Trust enough for their continued support of our efforts in order to save lives in Israel. Thank you,” he concluded.

Alex Trebek Jeopardy Wardrobe To Be Donated To Former Inmates Who Want Fresh Start

Alex Trebek had a long time running as host in the most-watched game night show, “Jeopardy!” When he died last November, he left dozens of clothing he had worn for the last 37 years in the show. Alex’s son, Matthew, decided to donate them to former inmates and homeless men who wanted a fresh start in life.

Alex, who died at the age of 80, passed away because of pancreatic cancer. But, he left a legacy of building a gentler and kinder society. He had supported multiple charities and programs dedicated to homeless people.

To honor his father’s request and values, Matthew donated Alex’s wardrobe from Jeopardy. It includes 25 polo shirts, 14 sweaters, 9 sport coats, 9 pairs of dress shoes, 15 belts, 2 parkas, and 3 pairs of dress slacks. He gave them to the Doe Fund program. The organization aims to provide services and opportunities to the homeless or who those have been in prison.

He said, “The Doe Fund made perfect sense since these are guys who are going on job interviews and need second chances. It would be an honor to the type of work that my Dad did throughout his life.”

The 30-year-old added, “This definitely aligned with his interests and sentiments and values. I think he would have thought it was a great idea.”

A fresh start for men

Men who had finished the program’s career-training class and prepared for job interviews will receive the suits.

John Powell, associate director of Doe Fund, believes the suit and ties from Alex Trebek gave the men a boost and validation. He said, “It’s a complete and total transformation.”

“It’s not just a nice suit. It’s a nice suit coming from Alex Trebek’s family, donated from Alex Trebek. Knowing it was someone they saw on television that they heard about for years, it’s a certain degree of validation.”

Cafe Owner Buys Tamales From Town’s Vendors And Gives Them To Homeless

A cafe owner has inspired many with his compassionate effort to help his community. He went around their town, looking for tamales vendors, and bought all their stock. Then, he reached out to the homeless by giving them the tamales.

Robert Magiet, the owner of TaKorea Cocina, began his initiative last month. According to the Chicago Tribune, Robert was driving through the town’s park when he noticed a woman selling tamales. The weather was icy, so the female vendor was wearing multiple layers of clothing.

Robert knew that the chance of her tamales getting sold at that time was very slim since people were staying inside their warm houses. The thought of the vendor standing outside in the freezing weather to provide for her family touched Robert deeply.

So, he decided to buy all the vendor’s tamales and even gave her a big tip. He told the media, “I said, ‘Can I buy all your tamales and you can go home? She had maybe 10 dozen on her.'”

He then went to homeless encampments nearby and gave them tamales.

Robert’s gesture gave him an idea of how he could further help those who are in need. So, he posted a picture of himself with the tamales vendor in his social media account and asked his followers for additional information.

He wrote, “Anyone know of any Tamale Cart vendors that will be out this weekend in the cold weather? I went to Yolanda near Humboldt Park and bought her out so she could go home today. I’d love to do the same for other Vendors and distribute the Tamales to our Neighbors experiencing homelessness. Let me know of any leads please.”

Within minutes, his friends suggested multiple areas to find such vendors.

In the following days, Robert has gone to these corners and bought all of the vendors’ tamales and then distributed them to the hungry and homeless.

“I’m not trying to save the world,” he said. “I’m just trying to help people who need food. If I have the ability to go help somebody, I’m just going to go help somebody. To me, it’s literally that simple.”

He added, “If somebody in our neighborhood is struggling, we all struggle.”

During the day of the inauguration of the newly elected US President, the weather was intensely cold. With snow flurries and chilling winds, the temperature dropped to near-freezing. However, Senator Bernie Sanders was perfectly dressed up for the winter weather.

The Vermont senator was cozy in his jacket and a pair of mittens. As he was sitting comfortably, photographer Brendan Smialowski captured a photo of him. And soon, his photo blew up the internet! The photo was Photoshopped into countless memes.

As the internet talked about Senator Bernie, he grabbed the opportunity to turn this moment into something good. Senator Sanders added the image to his merchandise on his website https://store.berniesanders.com/collections/products?sort_by=created-descending – all the proceeds will go to charities.

Due to the meme’s internet fame, sweatshirts and t-shirts sold out in just 30 minutes. They raised around $1.8 million in the span of five days. Vermont-based charities will benefit from the campaign, including Meals on Wheels and senior citizen advocacy groups.

“We’re glad we can use my internet fame to help Vermonters in need,” Senator Sanders said in a statement.

Vermont elementary school teacher Jen Ellis was the one who made the popular mittens that Sanders wore. She shared a valuable message about the good things that can come from mere memes.

“This is the lesson life has taught me again and again,” said Jen Ellis, who gifted the original mittens to Sanders. “If you give of yourself—not just material gifts, but your time, your goodwill, your kindness—you receive joy. It’s that simple. You don’t have to be rich to care; you just have to be human. We all have so many gifts, and the world is a better place when we share them.”
