Run with endurance the race by fixing your eyes on Jesus. Embrace the challenge and find perseverance and strength.

What Does the Bible Say?

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2

Life is often likened to a race, a journey filled with ups and downs, challenges and triumphs. In the book of Hebrews, you can find an inspiring call to run with endurance the race set before you, looking to Jesus as the founder and perfecter of your faith. Hebrews 12:1-2 beautifully captures this exhortation.

Hebrews is a reminder that you are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, those who have gone before you, exemplifying faith and endurance. Their stories and testimonies should encourage and inspire you, reminding you that you are not alone in your race. You stand on the shoulders of those who have overcome obstacles and walked faithfully with God. Let their lives spur you on as you press forward, their examples guiding your steps and strengthening your resolve to run with endurance.

To run the faith race with endurance, you are called to lay aside every weight and sin that entangles you. These weights can take various forms—negative mindsets, unhealthy relationships, distractions, or worldly desires that hinder your progress. As you surrender them to God, you lighten your load and free yourself to pursue the race set before you. It is a deliberate act of letting go and fixing your gaze on the eternal prize that awaits you.

You should continually fix your eyes on Jesus, the founder, and perfecter of your faith. He is your ultimate example, the one who paved the way for you through His sacrificial death and resurrection. Jesus is not only the initiator of your faith but also the one who sustains and brings it to completion. By keeping your focus on Him, you find the strength, wisdom, and guidance you need to navigate the twists and turns of your faith journey.

In Him, you can find the strength, grace, and perseverance needed to overcome obstacles and press on toward the ultimate victory. May your life be a testimony of unwavering faith, as you run with endurance the race set before you in Jesus’ name!

David Ingall Shares A Profound Revelation About Paul’s Words, “Sorrowful, Yet Always Rejoicing.”

David Ingall shared a profound revelation that can be found in 2 Corinthians 6:10. He discussed what Paul meant when he said, “Sorrowful, yet always rejoicing.”

David Ingall

The founder and ministry director of Burning Heart, David Ingall, shared about rejoicing in moments of sorrow and pain. In 2 Corinthians 6:10, Paul described himself as sorrowful yet always rejoicing. According to David, Paul treated sorrow and rejoicing as something that could come together. “There is a tension between them, yet somehow he knows that they don’t cancel each other out,” he narrated. For him, this was very important. In his experience as a Pastor, he heard people say that they couldn’t rejoice, especially when there was too much pain and sorrow.

Many interpret Paul’s message to say we should ignore the sorrow and gloss over the tough stuff.

“Paul knew that you can’t wish away grief and unhappiness and pretend it doesn’t exist. He’s not asking you to do that,” he highlighted. He added that it’s okay to struggle and weep, but people can still rejoice even in the midst of trials.

Sorrowful, Yet Always Rejoicing

Paul also wrote, ‘Rejoice in the Lord.’ Paul was not denying the struggles of life, but he was saying that even in the midst of storms, people still had a reason to rejoice. Furthermore, David recalled Paul’s situation as he wrote the verse. He was in prison, most likely waiting for trial or execution. And as bad as it was, he knows that what he had in Jesus was even better.

“A few verses earlier, he describes the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord. Next to which, everything else is dumb or rubbish in comparison,” he explained. Moreover, he said that even Paul couldn’t fully describe how special and precious knowing Jesus was. Nothing could shake Paul’s greatest joy, even in prison and death, because nothing could take it away from him.

What Does the Bible Say?

“Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” Psalm 51:12

You have received an incredible gift—the salvation provided through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice. This gift not only secures your eternal life but also offers a profound and unshakeable joy that surpasses any circumstance you may face. Explore the depths of this joy, rooted in the unwavering promises found in God’s Word.

The gift of salvation is a blessing from God, not earned by your own efforts or achievements. Ephesians 2:8-9 reminds us that we are saved by God’s grace through faith. This truth should fill you with overflowing joy, knowing that our salvation is secure and cannot be earned or lost. You are forever loved and accepted by our Heavenly Father.

The joy that stems from the redemption you have received through Jesus Christ. In Psalm 51:12, David’s prayer to God resonates with us: “Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” Your salvation is not a one-time event but a continuous source of joy and renewal. Through Christ’s sacrifice, you have been forgiven, cleansed, and reconciled to God. Your sins have been washed away, and you are made new in Christ—this truth is worth rejoicing!

Psalm 96:2-3 says to sing, praise, and proclaim God’s salvation day after day. Your overflowing joy should compel you to share the good news of God’s salvation with others. As you bear witness to the transformative power of Christ, you invite others to experience the same joy and freedom you have found in Him.

Prayer

I pray that joy will rise within your spirit and create unshakable happiness that comes from knowing you are redeemed and set free. Lord, I thank you for a joy that bubbles up and overflows as a display of your goodness and faithfulness. Amen!

Lord, as I read the beautiful words found in Romans 15:13, which declare the abundance of hope that springs from a vibrant relationship with You. I ask You today, Lord, to allow my heart to overflow with hope by the power of Your Holy Spirit.

I confess my weaknesses and limitations, knowing that true and lasting hope cannot be found in worldly possessions or fleeting circumstances. It is only through You, the source of all hope, that my soul finds true rest and peace. May Your divine presence permeate every corner of my being, filling me with a confident expectation of Your goodness and faithfulness. Amen.

“The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing. “ Proverbs 10:28

This verse illuminates a profound truth – that joy is not a fleeting emotion dependent on circumstances, but an enduring state of being rooted in righteousness.

Consider the implications of this revelation. As a believer, your righteousness is not a distant, unattainable goal, but a bestowed gift through Christ’s sacrifice. This righteousness births a joy that transcends the ebb and flow of life’s challenges. It’s an unshakeable joy, deeply anchored in the unchanging character of God.

Scripture further confirms this truth in Psalm 16:11, declaring, “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand” (NIV). This verse beautifully illustrates that true joy is not dependent on external circumstances, but is found in the intimate presence of your Heavenly Father.

Drug Smuggler Becomes A Bottle Collector And Has Found Joy In Jesus

A drug smuggler found Jesus amidst all the mess in his life and surrendered to Christ. Later, he now works honestly as a garbage collector and has become joyful, knowing he will go to heaven and be with God for eternity.

Former Drug Smuggler Becomes A Bottle Collector

A social media influencer, Eric Jeng, randomly interviewed a bottle collector named John, who was so happy at his job. His joy got Eric’s attention, so he asked him a few questions. During the interview, he discovered the reason behind the fullness of the man’s joy.

Apparently, the 60-year-old used to work as a drug smuggler. He earned millions of dollars smuggling drugs inside the United States until authorities arrested them. He was sentenced to 10 years in prision. Furthermore, he also lost his wife and children.

“I regret everything… I missed a lot of stuff man,” John admitted.

When asked how he handled the pain, he replied, “I got no more tears.. I can only be joyful and laugh, and have a good life because it soon’s gonna end.”

Finding Jesus

John added how he acted crazy in the past until he coming to Christ.

“Now, I’m a Christian,” the 60-year-old proudly proclaimed. “I do the right thing. I do my very best to walk properly, to love the others.”

Today, John is an inspiration to many people around him after finding life in Christ!

Words He Would Say To God

And John’s words to God when he gets to heaven, he revealed, will be, “Why did You choose me? Who am I that You chose me? I can walk on the streets made of gold, You got a house for me up there? Look at those streams and rivers and angels, I’m good to go! I couldn’t stop smiling down here, how am I gonna stop smiling up there?”

“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” (James 1:2-4)

Today’s Message

In the Lord’s presence, we get to experience the fullness of joy. This means that whether we are living out the deepest dreams and desires of our hearts, or merely staying faithful in our mundane moments, we can have joy! What does joy mean to you? God’s word teaches us that it’s beyond fleeting moments of happiness. It is abiding satisfaction in the one who created us. Because we forever are in God’s presence–because of Holy Spirit inside of us–we have access to joy in all times. In fact, we can trust that God continually fills us with His joy so that our mundane moments of life possess heavenly purpose. So whether you are sitting in traffic, doing dishes, or working a job you hate, you have a choice. Choose to tap into the joy God offers you even in these things. From this place, your spirit will be at rest, teaching your soul to be truly satisfied in the one who created you.
