DeVon Franklin: ‘Commit To The Process Of Letting God Match You With The Right Person’

Author and speaker DeVon Franklin shared in his profound message to singles to “commit to the process of letting God match you with the right person.”

A Message To Singles

DeVon Franklin encouraged his single listeners to trust God about their relationship. He pointed out about allowing God to work in that aspect of their life if they wanted to end up marrying the right person. But above all, he remarked to “commit to the process” and to God’s perfect timing.

In his message, DeVon then shared about the life of Ruth in the Bible as an example. He noted about Ruth’s attitude towards her life and most especially how she never worried about finding the right person.

“What does Ruth do? She goes about living her life committed and matched to God,” he explained.

The author then urged his listeners to do the same and focus on matching their lives to God. He said, “That if He intends for there to be a match, a romantic match for you in your journey of life, He will bring them to you. He will put them in your path.”

Finding The Right Person

Further, DeVon addressed those who feel like they’re “losing hope over God’s plan” for their lives. He told them, “You got to know the same way that Ruth, all she had to do was get on the path and God had everyone and everything she needed. You got to know that God is working behind the scenes to set you up right now to match you with the life that He’s promised you.”

But he also encouraged that in order to be aligned with God’s purpose for their lives, they have to be committed to God. They have to make the decision to follow God without excuses.

“Commit to the process of letting God match you with the right person, the right circumstance, and the right situation,” DeVon remarked.

Man Did A 30-Day Devotional Prayer To Ask God About The Right Person To Marry

A married man shared how he decided to have a 30-day devotional prayer to ask God if his wife was the right person to marry. And God answered his prayers.

How To Know You Found The Right Person To Marry

In a random interview, a man was asked how he knew his wife was the right person to marry. He then shared his personal story when he and his wife weren’t married yet. Apparently, during their relationship as a boyfriend and girlfriend, he asked God for confirmation.

So, the man embarked on a 30-day devotional prayer to seek God about His will towards his relationship. During that moment, they were also in a rough patch. Moreover, they doubted if they would be able to make it.

“So, during those thirty days, we didn’t speak to each other,” he recounted. “I simply continued to speak to God by means of my prayers. And I asked Him just a simple favor that after the thirty days, whatever His decision may be. Whether it be for us to be the ones to end up with one another or not that, that would he His answer.”

God’s Answer

Accepting God’s will wholeheartedly, even if it meant a negative response, the man remained steadfast in his faith. After the 30-day period, he received a confirmation from God. Thankfully, he was meant to marry his girlfriend, now his wife.

“And as many people say, ‘the rest is history,’” he said. Today, he and his wife are married for 33 years.

“By means of that thirty-day devotional prayer and by means of our constant prayer to God, we continue to be happily married,” the man attested. “So, how did I know that she was the right one for me? I simply asked God and He answered my prayers.”

In this testimony, it revealed the importance of seeking God’s guidance in important life decisions. And most especially in matters as crucial as choosing a life partner. May the man’s story encourage Christians to follow the his example and lean on prayer when discerning crucial choices.

Choosing the right person to marry in a lifetime is one of the most important decisions an individual can make. It can be a tedious and tricky decision, especially when emotions are involved. Therefore, seeking God’s guidance is crucial in this aspect.

Sharing his profound insight, Pastor Jonny Ardavanis provided Biblical dating tips to Christian singles. He encouraged them to ask specific questions to the person they are considering dating and marrying.

Here are the five questions he suggested asking the guy or girl they are dating:

1. Are they godly?

In this first question, Pastor Jonny pointed out that one doesn’t necessarily have to ask if they go to church or believe in God. Instead, they should assess if they truly love Jesus Christ and their local church.

2. Are they a hard worker?

“The Bible says he who does not work, does not eat,” the pastor said. “And so, if you’re a girl considering a guy, I wouldn’t know for absolute sure whether or not this guy works hard.”

3. Is there actual chemistry?

In this third question, Pastor Jonny emphasized the importance of genuinely enjoying the company of the other person. He explained, “Do you like being with them? Is there a joy and a fun of interacting with each other? Marriage is not a dry partnership. It is a vibrant relationship among the seasons of life that are more difficult. You want go through that season with someone that you actually enjoy.”

4. Are they teachable?

One of the most important character traits, according to Pastor Jonny, is their teachability. He said, “Are there people in their life that they learn from? Can they learn from you or is it like pulling teeth trying to get them to listen to anybody else’s opinion other than their own?”

5. Are they a servant?

One of the most remarkable traits of a person is exemplifying the love of Christ through service. Thus, Pastor Jonny said, “The will of God for every single Christian is that we would lay our life down on the altar of service. And so, one of the main questions you can ask, as you ascertain whether or not this individual is for you forever, is are they serving others? Do they serve the church or do they live for themselves?”
