A woman decided to quit her job to pursue business for God. She faithfully gave tithes and her income increased exponentially.
Jewelry-Making Hobby
Kara Deal struggled to make ends meet after she went through divorce and raised her two sons alone. She had to sell valuable items in their home to cover up their expenses at home even when she had a job.
Making Scripture-inspired jewelry was Kara’s hobby. Hence, she would sometimes give it as gifts for friends and family. Soon after, some people in church would order from her as souvenirs or gifts for their loved ones. That’s when her craft started to spread to others.
During that time, Kara was still hesitant about the practice of tithing as a new believer. So, she only gave what she could afford to give to the church. The reason was because she had to hoard to survive and feed her children.
Pursuing Business For God
However, God began to work on Kara’s heart when He led her to turn her jewelry-making hobby into a business. She received such a strong impression from God every time she prayed. Even though she admitted it didn’t make sense to her back then, she knew it was from God. So, she bravely took the risk to quit her job and pursue a business full-time to follow God’s leading.
Kara recalled how God gave her the gift of courage as she took the risk amidst the uncertainties. She was well-paid with great benefits as an employee, but she chose to obey God. So, it wasn’t long before she turned in her resignation letter to her boss. And on the day she resigned was also the day she received a phone call from Lakewood Church. Surprisingly, they offered Kara to carry her bracelets into their 26 bookstores.
Watch how God amazingly carried Kara throughout her business and prospered through the works of her hands.
